The Importance of Hand Hygiene in Public Spaces

Whether in the office, school, a hospital, or even a transport junction, allocated public spaces have become the new epicenters of dangerous bacteria and viruses in this modern world. The recent global public health concerns have made the practice of hand hygiene more important now than it has ever been. It's common knowledge that public places are densely populated and require the utmost hygiene control. Therefore, to ensure infection control as well as the good health of everyone, hand washing and sanitising should be done regularly.

Reasons for Increasing the Hygiene Control Standards in Public Areas

The corridors and halls that serve the general public are commonly known as public places. People from different walks of life blend together in such places hence, the risk of viruses and bacteria spreading is even higher. The chances of infection transmission are greater in densely populated areas where hygiene is not practiced at all. Personal hygiene, such as hand washing, aids in controlling the spread of diseases and helps break the cycle of transmission to resolve the infection and minimize the chances of contracting illnesses and infections like COVID-19, flu and cold.

Personal hygiene, or rather hand hygiene, is critical not only for personal well-being but for the entire community. It is one of those rare instances where a simplistic approach that is remarkably complex can be harnessed in order to eradicate the spread of dangerous pathogens.

Why Using Nilaqua Hand Sanitiser is Beneficial

For wards and other areas of the hospital frequented by many patients, hygiene is vital. The placement of hand washing and hand sanitising points at critical points must be ensured. The machines must have the proper hand washing products, which in this case are Nilaqua products.

With Nilaqua hand sanitiser, there is no need to worry about its formulation since it does not contain alcohol and can be used repeatedly without harm. Unlike other sanitizers, the alcohol based ones do have a drawback; due to frequent usage, they tend to irritate and dry out the skin. Nilaqua sanitisers are, however gentle to the skin whilst also offering powerful protection against 99.99% of bacteria and viruses. Due to its effectiveness, it is suited for places with a high volume of foot traffic including; hospitals, shopping malls, schools, and airports.

As mentioned, Nilaqua hand sanitizer does not contain alcohol which makes it safer for the person using it and even the environment. It is non toxic and does not contain any dangerous substances which means it is safe for kids and even those with very delicate skin.

Where Should You Place Hand Sanitising Stations?

Combating germs before they spread should be prioritized and as such, Nilaqua promotes strategies to combat infections and germ spread which is why hand sanitiser stations should be place in:

  • Primary places of entry/exit: After and before entering the premise, everybody should have access to hand sanitiser to curb the spread of germs.
  • Close to High-Touch Surfaces: Place dispensers close to elevator buttons, stair railings, and door latches as these are likely to be more contaminated.
  • Common Areas: Such as waiting areas, living rooms, toilets, and kitchens should have hand sanitiser dispensers mounted onto the walls to encourage more frequent usage.
  • Queues or Lines: Make sure that dispensing machines are in places that people tend to crowd at, eg. checkout desks and ticket offices.
Fostering Sanitary Practices

Encouraging proper sanitization practices entails more than just providing hand sanitisation booths. It is also necessary to encourage an environment that promotes embracing sterility using the following steps:

  • Posters: Install bold and clear reminder signs that encourage frequent hand cleaning near sanitisation booths.
  • Staff Training: Make it a requirement that all staff understand hygiene properly and be trained on how to assist guests interested in using the sanitisation booths properly.
  • Sanitization: Ensure that the hands-free sanitisation booths have sufficient amounts of hand sanitiser available and that they are safe for use.
Conclusion

Hand hygiene is a pivotal aspect of public places. Investing in products such as Nilaqua hand sanitiser aids in assuring public areas are clean and safe for everyone. Easy access to hand sanitizer in schools, healthcare facilities, and commercial centres can mitigate the propagation of dangerous germs and improve the health of the entire community.

While using Nilaqua products, you can rest assured that your space is free of harmful bacteria without exposing gentle staff and visitors to alcohol.
